In order to implement the university’s “1396” development strategy and accelerate the construction of the “Cultural Shijiazhuang University” scene, on April 28th, the university organized 300 student representatives to watch the elegant art song and dance drama “Taihang Praise” at the Provincial Art Center Grand Theater.
“The Taihang Praise” is sponsored by the Propaganda Department of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, produced by Hebei Performing Arts Group, and performed by the Provincial Song and Dance Theater. It is a large-scale stage play and work creation funding project of the National Art Foundation in 2022. The play vividly reflects the spiritual connotation and the meaning of the times of Fuping’s road out of poverty, reflects the firm original intention of the CPC to serve the people, and fights against poverty through the description of the bitter and sweet life of Hao Yu and others cadres on the road to the anti-poverty, the perseverance of the Taihang people in pursuit of the dream of prosperity, and the revolutionary base area’s red gene passed down from generation to generation, radiating new era charm. And it also vividly shows Fuping’s determination to win a well-off society in an all-round way and the highlight and significance of achieving poverty alleviation and prosperity towards a moderately prosperous society and embarking on a new journey of rural revitalization.
The entire performance, with its grand stage effect and artistic form of singing and dancing, provided a feast of elegant artistic spirit for the students, as well as a vivid ideological and political lesson, which received consistent praise from the students.
Li Shengrong, a student of the School of Marxism, finally understood the profound meaning of the words --“Mother only gives birth to me, and the glory of the Party shines on my heart” -- in “Singing a Mountain Song to the Party” after watching “The Taihang Praise”. The saying that Fuping is not rich has become a thing of the past, and rural revitalization is beginning a new chapter. The journey is long and arduous. As students majoring in ideological and political education, we should strive to take on responsibilities, to enhance our abilities, and aspire to become good young people with ideals, courage to take on responsibilities, ability to endure hardships, and willingness to strive in the new era.
Zhang Zaixian, a student of the School of Literature and History, stated that “The Taihang Praise” is based on the poverty alleviation campaign in Fuping, vividly interpreting the profound connotation of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s the important instruction “as long as there is confidence, earth will turn into gold”. It reproduces the the course of struggle of the Party leading the people in poverty alleviation and rural revitalization, and provides us with ideological education and political guidance through elegant art forms.
Zhuang Jianye, a student from the School of Literature and History, said that “The Taihang Praise” combines the process of poverty alleviation with the red blood on the land of Fuping, giving people a strong emotional resonance and historical penetration. As young students, we must support the leadership of the Party, inherit red culture, practice the spirit of “as long as we have confidence, earth will become gold”, work hard, and study for the rise of China!
Since the implementation of the “1396” development strategy, our university has continuously innovated its ideological and political work methods, implemented the fundamental task of cultivating morality and talents, and expanded its cultural propaganda platform and improved students’ comprehensive literacy through a combination of “inviting in” and “going out”. This activity is a specific measure to build a “Cultural Shijiazhuang University” scene, and also a positive practice of “changing people with culture and educating people with culture”. It has effectively condensed the magnificent power of young students for the great-leap-forward development of the school’s “second entrepreneurship”.
