On the afternoon of September 8, on the occasion of the 39th Teachers’ Day, our university held a grand celebration of 2023 Teachers’ Day and recognition conference in Shangwen Auditorium. More than 1000 people were present, including all the school leaders, all the middle-level cadres, and representatives of faculty members and students.

The conference opened with the majestic sound of the national anthem, and all attendees stood solemnly and sang the national anthem in unison.

Party secretary Chen Liang delivered a speech, extending holiday greetings to all faculty and staff, warm congratulations to the recognized teachers, and high respect to the veteran teachers who have made contributions to the development of the university. He highly praised the outstanding achievements made by all faculty and staff over the past six months, encouraged everyone to enhance confidence and help the school achieve new leapfrog development, and proposed three hopes to share with everyone: firstly, we should firmly uphold ideals and beliefs, and cultivate noble teachers’ ethics. We should take the opportunity of learning and implementing the theme education of Xi Jinping socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era, strive to learn the innovative theory of the Party, and combine it with the actual situation of the university to promote work. We should work together to implement the “1396” development strategy, and work tirelessly. We need to strengthen the construction of teacher ethics and conduct, strive to be a good teacher with the “Four Haves”, be a good “Four Guides”, and practice the “Four Unifications”. Secondly, we must adhere to our original mission and devote ourselves to teaching and educating people. We should cherish the concept of “the great of our country”, deeply promote the coordinated education of ideological and political courses, actively integrate and vigorously promote the comprehensive literacy improvement project of students, and focus on cultivating high-quality applied talents. And the third is to persist in lifelong learning and consolidate one’s own abilities. We need to constantly update educational concepts, enrich knowledge reserves, make up for shortcomings in our abilities, and improve our teaching level. We must adhere to a practical, problem-oriented and goal-oriented approach, focus on the key work tasks of the university, solidly and effectively promote the implementation of various tasks, and turn the beautiful blueprint of the “1396” development strategy into reality.

The conference commended a number of outstanding groups and exemplary individuals by category, including teachers in education and teaching, teachers’ ethics, academic research, management services, teachers who have completed their 30th anniversary of teaching and the first batch of “Huang Danian style teacher teams in colleges and universities in Hebei Province”. The attending school leaders presented honorary certificates to the representatives of the award-winning faculty and staff, and 5 representatives delivered acceptance speeches.

The conference calls on all faculty and staff to further integrate their thoughts and actions into the “1396” development strategy deployment, work together with one heart and one direction, work hard, and practice tirelessly, and truly create new achievements that do not bear the historical trust and the expectations of the times on the new journey of “second entrepreneurship”, and strive to create a new situation of high-quality development with connotation in the university!
