Our University Holds the 2023 New Student Welcome Gala on the Theme of “Composing a new chapter to the Party, striving for a new journey in our youth”

 On the evening of September 21st, the 2023 New Student Welcome Gala on the theme of “Composing a new chapter to the Party, striving for a new journey in our youth” was grandly held at the central square of the South Campus of our university.
Those attending the gala included the visiting delegation from Woosuk University in South Korea, and university leaders, middle-level cadres, secretaries of youth leagues of the schools, counselors, and students of all grades of our university.
  
Vice President of the university Feng Baoqiang delivered an opening speech. On behalf of the school's party and government leadership team and all teaching staff, he warmly welcomed the new students in 2023 and expressed sincere gratitude to all the cast members and staff. He pointed out that the annual welcome party was a literary and cultural feast and calling card that has been passed down by old and new classmates. It embodied the wisdom and dedication of generations of teachers and students, which was filled with the hard work and efforts of batches of actors and staff as well as passion and joy of new classmates. He expressed his hope that students could cultivate their sentiments, nurture the spirit of innovation and creativity in the colorful campus technological and cultural activities, increase knowledge, develop talents and shape good characters in various volunteer services and practical activities, and strengthen their body and will through physical exercises.
  
More than 20 teachers and over 300 students from schools and departments including School of Music, School of Physical Education, School of Journalism and Media, School of Teacher Education, School of Fine Arts and Design, Yueda International Institute of Art, Nule International College, Library, International Exchange Center, etc. gave their fantastic performances on the theme of “Composing a new chapter to the Party, striving for a new journey in our youth” through various artistic forms such as singing, dancing, recitation, and instrumental performance, presenting a magnificent audio-visual feast to students.
Ms. Hu Xiaoqing, a famous soprano singer in China, was invited to perform in the gala. She performed the song “Da Zhai Men” in seven musical forms: Beijing Opera, Yu Opera, Pingju, Dagu, popular singing and pop singing and the song “Hulunbuir Grassland” in five voices: children’s voice, bel canto, male voice, mezzo-soprano, and soprano. Her exquisite singing skills drew thunderous applause from the audience.
Li Lin, Dean of the School of Music, brought the song “You Are in My Heart” to the gala, expressing the most beautiful and deepest emotion. The international student group sang “My Future is Not a Dream” with great enthusiasm, vividly showcasing the outstanding achievements of our school’s international education. The jazz dance “Fighting” and the modern dance “You Are Most Important” demonstrated the vitality of young students. The recitation of the poem “Responsibility on shoulder, we are ready to build a powerful China!” and the song “As You Wish” expressed deep affection for the motherland.
At the end of the program, Liu Xiuwen, a renowned soprano singer from Hebei Song and Dance Theater and distinguished professor of the School of Music, and the choir from the School of Music jointly performed the song “My Motherland”, expressing the passion and determination of the staff of Shijiazhuang University in writing a new chapter in the construction of a first-class applied university and contributing to the construction of a powerful country in the new era.

The gala was filled with excitement, surprises and continuous applause and cheers from the audience. Its success vividly demonstrates the combatant spirt of all teachers and students of our university in devoting themselves to the new journey of “secondary entrepreneurship” under the guidance of the “1396” development strategy.
