Our Students Won Prizes in 2023 National College Robot Science and Technology Innovation Exchange Camp and Robot Competition

From December 17 to 19, the 2023 National College Student Robot Science and Technology Innovation Exchange Camp and Robot Competition co-sponsored by the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology was held in Rizhao, Shandong Province. The entry named“Wise Observation and Meticulous Language-Behavioral Interactive Nursing and Care Robots for the Aged”made by students from the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering of Shijiazhuang University, won the national second prize after school-level recommendation, provincial recommendation, national network preliminary review and on-site final review.
 
The project team is composed of Lin Deming, Hao Xiangfei, Wang Hongda, Li Jiahao, Wang Zhoulin, Liu Songpeng, Li Yan, Li Yue and other students. The instructors were Liu Peize, Zhang Wenjuan and Tian Yingyi. This entry is a smart home nursing and care robot based on ROS robot operating system. With Jetson Xavier NX as its control core, the robot can realize micro-movements and micro-language interaction with users, and realize non-contact detection of vital signs and real-time tracking of the human body by monitoring facial expressions and human gestures.
 
The National College Student Robot Science and Technology Innovation Exchange Camp and Competition is a guided, exemplary and mass national competition co-sponsored by the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and is an important carrier for the Communist Youth League to serve the scientific and technological innovation of college students. This year, a total of 1017 entries from 431 colleges and universities in 30 provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities and Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps were attracted to participate in the competition, finally generating 50 special prizes, 74 first prizes, 94 second prizes and 300 third prizes.
