In order to organize and mobilize the majority of young people to base themselves on their own positions and strive to become the vanguard and fresh force in the fields of “scientific and technological innovation, rural revitalization, green development, social services, and defending the country and the border”, the Hebei Provincial Committee of the Communist Youth League organized the selection of candidates for the “Jiqing Talents” program. Zhao Shipeng from the School of Physical Education of our university was selected into the talent pool in the field of “Defending the country and guarding the border”.

Zhao Shipeng is a student majoring in Physical Education at the School of Physical Education of our university in 2018. After retiring from the military in 2020, he returned to school to study and successively served as the captain of the national flag guard team in vocational schools, the chairman of the student branch of the Sports College, and the professional class monitor. During the service, Zhao Shipeng has won collective commendation for the 70th anniversary of the founding of the National Day celebration task, detachment commendation, excellent “conscript” and other honors. After returning to school, he won the National Star of Self Strengthening College Students, the Three Good Students in Hebei Province, the First Prize in National Defense Education Speech for College Students in Shijiazhuang City, the Youth May Fourth Medal of Shijiazhuang University, the Special Scholarship for Shijiazhuang University and many other honors.

Zhao Shipeng’s selection into the “Ji Qing Talents” pool not only fully reflects the patriotism of our university’s students who have never faded after being discharged from the military, but also sets an example for young students to join the military and strive for the country. It also demonstrates our university’s high-quality education level in accelerating the new journey of building a first-class application-oriented university.
