The 2nd Sesto Bruscantini International Vocal Competition was Held Successfully in SJZU

From May 1st to 5th, the 2nd Sesto Bruscantini International Vocal Competition, hosted by the Montecosaro & International Vocal Opera Education Association in Italy and co-organized by SJZU and Beijing Hongkun Cultural Media Co., Ltd., was successfully concluded in our university. There are more than 500 contestants from major art colleges and comprehensive teacher training institutions across the country to register and participate. Of the five teachers from SJZU Yueda International Institute of Arts participated in the competition, one won the third prize in the Aria Teacher Actor Group.
The judges of this competition are composed of vocal experts and professors from 10 music colleges, 4 higher art institutes, and some comprehensive normal universities in China, as well as 5 singers from South Korea and Italy. Among them, Xu Zhaoren, a bass singer and professor from the Department of Vocal Music at Shenyang Conservatory of Music, serves as the chairman of the judging committee, while Hao Zhiming, the dean of SJZU Yueda International Institute of Arts, serves as the honorary chairman of the judging committee. The competition is divided into two rounds, the preliminary round and the final round. It is divided into five groups according to the learning stage, singing method, and work type, and 6 winners will be determined within each group ultimately. During the competition, Leo Capilupi, the Italian baritone singer, Park Jung woon, the Korean soprano, and Gao Sung hyun, the Korean baritone singer, held a total of 6 vocal master classes and 2 concerts.
This competition is one of the series of activities organized by Yueda International Institute of Arts to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the upgrading of the university. The success of the competition has increased the international reputation and influence of our university, providing a platform for exchange and mutual learning among various higher art colleges, promoting the development of vocal education in SJZU, and playing a positive role in improving the quality of vocal talent cultivation. In the future, Yueda International Institute of Arts will fully leverage the advantages of university-enterprise cooperation, introduce high-level vocal competitions to our teachers and students, and lead our vocal talents to social competitions, making contributions to steadily improving the internationalization of our university.
