From May 11th to 13th, the 2024 Academic Annual Conference of Hebei Geographic Society was successfully held in the Shangwen Auditorium of our university. This annual meeting is hosted by the Hebei Geographic Society and hosted by the School of Geographic Science and Environment of our university. The theme is "Geography promotes the high-quality development of Hebei". Vice President Yao Zhenjun attended. More than 800 experts and scholars from more than 50 scientific research institutes, universities, middle schools and enterprises, including Peking University, the Institute of Geographic Science and Resources of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Agricultural Resources Research Center of the Institute of Genetics and Developmental Biology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Hebei Institute of Geographic Sciences of the Hebei Institute of Educational Science, the Hebei Regional Development Research Association, the Hebei Teaching Service Center of the Higher Education Press, Hebei Normal University, Beijing Chaotu Software Co., Ltd., and Shanghai Huatu Navigation Technology Co., Ltd. attended the meeting.

Before the annual meeting, Chen Liang, Secretary of the Party Committee of the school, held talks with specially invited experts such as Zhang Guoyou, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of the Chinese Geographical Society, and Di Minghui, Chairman of the Hebei Geographical Society, in the VIP Hall of Shangwen Auditorium. Chen Liang introduced the development of the university and the construction of disciplines, and warmly welcomed the arrival of experts. Zhang Guoyou and Di Minghui introduced the history and development of the Chinese Geographical Society and the Hebei Geographical Society respectively, and expressed their heartfelt thanks to the university for strongly supporting the work of the Geographic Society and the development of the geography discipline.

Yao Zhenjun delivered a speech at the opening ceremony and expressed a warm welcome to the experts and scholars attending the meeting on behalf of the university. He briefly introduced the history of the university and the development of the School of Geographic Sciences and Environment, and thanked the experts and scholars for their help and support in the construction of geography and majors of our university. Yao Zhenjun pointed out that the university is standing on the new journey of "second entrepreneurship". It is necessary to seize the rare historical development opportunities for the coordinated development of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei and strengthen the construction of provincial capitals, unswerving implement the "1396" development strategy, and take this annual meeting as an opportunity to continue to strengthen the construction of geographical disciplines and contribute to the high-quality development of our province. I hope that experts and scholars can take the annual conference as an opportunity to deepen their understanding through ideological collisions, gather consensus through discussions and exchanges, enhance the pattern through intellectual agitation, work together to share research, resonate with each other, advance and prosper, and jointly write a new chapter in the development of geography.

In his speech, Zhang Guoyou linked the practical application of geography with the national development strategy, affirming the positive contributions made by the Hebei Geographical Society in geography education, scientific research, and serving socio-economic development. In her speech, Di Minghui expressed sincere gratitude to our school for valuing the annual conference and making it an important event to commemorate the 20th anniversary of undergraduate education. She also called on the people of Hebei Geography to actively undertake the historical mission of accelerating the construction of an economically strong province, beautiful Hebei, and promoting high-quality development, and to contribute to the new journey of comprehensively building a socialist modernized country and advancing towards the second centenary goal.

During the invited report session, Professor Li Shuangcheng of Peking University, researcher of the Institute of Geographic Science and Resources of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and director of the Economic Geography Professional Committee of the Chinese Geographical Society, Shen Yanjun, deputy director of the Agricultural Resources Research Center of the Institute of Genetics and Developmental Biology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Ding Jianghui, president of the School of Geographic Sciences of Hebei Normal University, Chen Yong, vice president of the platform product line of Beijing SuperMap Software Co., Ltd., Sun Zhongwei, president of the Institute of Geographic Science and Environment of our university, and other experts respectively made a speech entitled "The geographical basis of new energy development", "the path of strategic integration of regional development in the new era and the coordinated development of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei", "the path of comprehensive water-saving and sustainable development of agriculture in the context of underground hydraulic mining ", and "from the geographical perspective Research on the Development of Rural E-Commerce" "Innovation and Development of Spatial Intelligence Software Technology". The conference report on the development of geography education in Hebei and its socio-economic contributions. The report covers four topics: natural geography, human geography, information geography, and geography education.

In the three sub venues of physical geography and information geography, human geography and college geography education, and middle school geography education, 36 academic reports were made by personnel from the Agricultural Resources Research Center of the Institute of Genetics and Developmental Biology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Institute of Geographic Sciences, Hebei Normal University, Hebei Normal University for Nationalities, Tangshan Normal University, Handan University, Xingtai University, Shijiazhuang University, Shahe No. 1 Middle School, Shijiazhuang Foreign Language School, Shijiazhuang No. 48 Middle School, Shijiazhuang Southeast Experimental Middle School, Shanghai Huace Navigation Technology Co., Ltd., 21st Century Space Technology Application Co., Ltd. and other units in the sub venues, and achievements were exchanged and thoughts collided in academic sharing.

This annual meeting is the first annual meeting of the Geography Society of Hebei Province, and it is also one of our university's commemorative activities for the 20th anniversary of promotion enrollment. The successful holding of the annual conference is of great significance for promoting the development of geography in Hebei Province and the development of the Hebei Geographical Society. It also fully demonstrates the responsibility and responsibility of geography in promoting high-quality development and the construction of a beautiful Hebei.
