On May 12, sponsored by the Shijiazhuang Municipal Committee of the Communist Youth League and the Shijiazhuang Students’ Federation, the South Campus gymnasium of the first Shijiazhuang University Students’ “3V3” basketball game hosted by our university was grandfully opened. Vice President Feng Baoqiang attended the opening ceremony and made a speech, and Wang Wei, Secretary of Shijiazhuang Municipal Committee of the Communist Youth League, announced the opening of the competition. Wang Li and Li Maoqing, Deputy secretary of the Communist Youth League Shijiazhuang Municipal Committee attended the opening ceremony. Besides, Yan Yan, Director of the School and Youth Department of the Communist Youth League Shijiazhuang Municipal Committee, Yang Xin, Director of the Shijiazhuang Youth Development Foundation, Zuo Jian, Dean of Physical Education School of our university, Gao Zhiyuan, President of China Merchants Bank High-tech Zone Branch, Ge Lizhong, technical representative of the competition and national referee, also attended the opening ceremony. Besides of the above mentioned, people such as all judges, participating teams, and live audience, nearly 2,000 people all together attended the opening ceremony.

The opening ceremony kicked off with the majestic national anthem. Feng Baoqiang gave a welcome speech, introduced the “1396” development strategy of the university and gave a brief introduction of the university, and encouraged the students to show the youth style and good spirit of provincial college students, and help the construction of international modern and beautiful provincial city with practical actions. Feng Baoqiang said that our university has achieved remarkable results in serving the economic and social development of the provincial capital, especially the construction of sports culture, and has undertaken the referee and volunteer service work of large-scale competitions for many times, which has been highly recognized and praised by provincial and municipal authorities and related industries. The Party Committee of the university attaches great importance to this event and has set up a leading group headed by the university leader. All departments of the university cooperate closely to ensure the safety and orderly conduction of the event.

Wang Wei, secretary of the CPC Youth League Committee, announced the opening of the competition on behalf of the organizers. Yong Guangbo from our university and Tong Jinpeng from Hebei Normal University took the oath as referees and athletes’ representatives respectively. During the event, our School of Music brought a modern dance performance to the live audience.

This basketball game aims to promote the high-quality development of students with high-quality activities, guide the majority of students to touch the urban fabric, polish the urban IP, and promote more college students to bloom their youthful passion in the city’s most colorful center position. The competition took place from May 11 to May 19, with 77 participating teams from more than 30 universities in the city. Our university will send 6 teams of 32 players to participate in the competition of Group A and Group C, showing the achievements of our campus sports culture construction and the youth style of students.
