On the afternoon of July 10th, the Federation of Returned Overseas of Shijiazhuang held a promotion lecture at Yueda International Conference Center of SJZU, titled “Using Competitions as a Medium to Assist in the Transfer and Transformation of International Scientific and Technological Achievements in Universities”, in order to introduce and promote the 3rd Shijiazhuang “HAISHI Cup” High-level Talent Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition (Asia-Pacific Area). Yao Zhenjun, Vice President of SJZU, attended the forum and delivered a welcome speech. Gao Yingmin, Party Secretary and Chairman of Federation of Returned Overseas of Shijiazhuang, Hu Weimin, Vice Chairman of Federation of Returned Overseas of Shijiazhuang, Wu Kai, Chief of the Economic and Technological Cooperation Department of Shijiazhuang Investment Promotion Bureau, and Bai Zili, Vice Chairman of Hebei Association for International Exchange of Personnel, attended the lecture. The leaders of International Exchange Center of SJZU, Office of Academic Research, Editorial Department of Journal, and the relevant secondary colleges attended the lecture.

Yao Zhenjun welcomed the guests in his speech and expressed gratitude to the Federation of Returned Overseas of Shijiazhuang, Shijiazhuang Investment Promotion Bureau, and Hebei Association for International Exchange of Personnel for their support of the SJZU’s development. He mentioned that, as the only municipal undergraduate university in Shijiazhuang, SJZU has always regarded serving the economic and social development of the capital of Hebei Province as an important task. SJZU would take this lecture as an opportunity to continuously leverage the advantages and resources of the university, broaden communication and cooperation channels, fully mobilize all the stuff and students to focus on, promote and participate in the competition, and contribute the wisdom and strength of SJZU to promote the high-quality development of the capital of Hebei Province. Gao Yingmin introduced the purpose and concept of Shijiazhuang “HAISHI Cup” High-level Talent Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition. He added that, as a bridge between the Party and the government and overseas Chinese, the Federation of Returned Overseas of Shijiazhuang was willing to actively build a platform for attracting overseas Chinese talents and investment, and continuously deepen its connection with universities.

During the lecture, SJZU signed a “Strategic Cooperation Agreement” with Hebei Association for International Exchange of Personnel. Wu Kai introduced the investment environment of Shijiazhuang City. In his lecture titled with “Using Competitions as a Media to Assist Universities in the Transfer and Transformation of International Scientific and Technological Achievements”, Bai Zili introduced the situation of Hebei Association for International Exchange of Personnel and the establishment of channels for the transfer and transformation of scientific and technological achievements with universities. The organizers of the competition made the introduction to the activities of the 3rd Shijiazhuang “HAISHI Cup” High-level Talent Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition in Asia-Pacific area.

After the lecture, Gao Yingmin and his delegation visited the history museum and the AI laboratory of the Future Information Technology College in SJZU.

Shijiazhuang “HAISHI Cup” High-level Talent Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition is hosted by the People’s Government of Shijiazhuang City, which is divided into four major competition fields: new generation electronic information, bio-medicine, advanced equipment manufacturing, and modern food. It is set up in five competition areas: European Area, Asia-Pacific Area, Beijing Area, Xi’an Area, and Nanjing Area. The purpose of this competition is to comprehensively study and implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, adhere to the principle that science and technology are the primary productive forces, talent is the primary resource, and innovation is the primary driving force. It aims to deeply implement the strategy of strengthening the city with talents in the new era, focus on building more than 5 billion-level industrial clusters, concentrate on gathering more high-level talents and innovation and entrepreneurship teams at home and abroad, introduce a number of original, creative, and leading high-tech projects urgently needed for the development of key industries in Shijiazhuang, and provide strong intellectual support for the construction of a modern, international and beautiful provincial capital city.
