The 2024 Academic Annual Conference of Hebei Computer Education Research Association was successfully held at our university from July 16th to 18th. The annual conference was hosted by the Hebei Computer Education Research Association and jointly organized by our university and Hebei Agricultural University. Lu Song, Minister of Science and Technology Innovation Department of Hebei Association for Science and Technology, Zhao Jianjun, Vice President of Hebei Agricultural University, Teng Guifa, Chairman of Hebei Computer Education Research Association, Wang Xibo, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the our university, and Li Juan, Vice President, of the our university attended the conference. More than 200 representatives from computer departments of various universities and well-known industries in China attended the meeting.

Wang Xibo delivered the opening speech. He warmly welcomed all the leaders, experts, and scholars attending the event on behalf of the university and sincerely thanked the friends from all walks of life who have cared about and supported the development of the university over the years. He introduced the development history, basic situation, and “1396” development strategy of the university to the attending guests, and hoped to work with colleagues in the industry to deepen exchanges and cooperation in the field of computer science, achieve resource sharing, complementary advantages, mutual benefit and win-win results, and jointly write a new chapter in the high-quality development of computer science in the new era, making new and greater contributions to accelerate the construction of an economically strong province and a beautiful Hebei.

In his speech, Lu Song emphasized the need to thoroughly implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s the important speech on inspecting Hebei, actively promote the realization of a virtuous cycle of “innovation driven development, talent led innovation, and education nurturing talents”, and let talent cultivation, scientific research, cultural dissemination, and campus governance shine with new vitality under digital empowerment.

Zhao Jianjun pointed out in his speech that the rapid development of the new generation of information technology has become the driving force for promoting economic and social development and opening up new tracks and that General Secretary Xi Jinping has repeatedly emphasized the importance of information technology. Zhao Jianjun hoped to use this annual meeting as an opportunity to carry out larger, deeper, and higher-level exchanges and cooperation.

Teng Guifa expressed his gratitude to the main organizer, attending guests, and members in his speech. He pointed out that the rise of new quality productivity has given rise to diverse application scenarios of “artificial intelligence+”, bringing unprecedented challenges and opportunities to higher education, especially in the field of computer education. He looked forward to promoting the sustainable development and innovation of computer education in Hebei Province through communication and cooperation at the conference.

During the conference session, Professor Gui Xiaolin from Xi’an Jiaotong University delivered the first academic report titled Reform and Exploration of University Computer General Education for New Quality Productivity. Starting from the demand for new quality productivity, the report explored how artificial intelligence and big models can empower computer general education in universities, and how to build a reform strategy and implementation methods for “professional+computing” in the AI era.

Wang Hongyu, Director of the Key Field Teaching Resource Construction Project Management Office and Executive Secretary General of the Virtual Simulation Experiment Teaching Innovation Alliance, took the “14th Five Year Plan” education reform as the starting point to elaborate on the core role of knowledge graph in the field of smart education and propose the establishment of a new digital teaching mode.

Professor Qiang Yan, Dean and Doctoral Supervisor of the School of Software at North China University, shared his reform experience on the practical problems of “lack of optical practice, lack of interest, difficult assessment, and inaccurate employment guidance” in talent cultivation for programming courses, with the theme of Practice of Numerical Intelligence Teaching in Programming Courses with the Support of Big Models.

Wang Zi, Chief Planning Expert of Huawei Anxin, Associate Professor Song Yufei, Director of the IoT Engineering Teaching and Research Office and Director of the Artificial Intelligence Teaching and Research Office at the School of Future Information Technology of our university, Zhong Junfei, Director of School Enterprise Cooperation at Qilin Software Education Development Center, Lan Yuchuan, Technical Director of Ruijie Network Hebei Region, Qi Peiyuan, Senior Security Advisor of Tianrongxin Technology Group, Wang Xiaotao, Sales Director of Super Fusion AI Solutions, Professor Zhang Guanghua, Dean of the School of Information Science and Engineering at Hebei University of Science and Technology and Dean of the School of Information Engineering at ANU, Professor Zhao Zhanfang, Vice Dean of the School of Information Engineering at Hebei University of Geosciences, and Wang Kang, Computer Branch President and Deputy Editor in Chief of the Engineering Division of Higher Education Press, as well as other computer education experts, scholars, educators, and industry elites, all made brilliant speeches around the theme of the conference.

This annual conference covered multiple aspects such as academic reports, technical reports, and group discussions and the attending experts, representatives, and members jointly discussed new concepts, technologies, and methods of computer education, which had a positive promoting effect on the construction of computer courses, disciplinary majors, and improving the quality of talent cultivation in Hebei Province.
