In order to deepen the study and implementation of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important discourse on youth work, fully rely on the organizational advantages of the Communist Youth League, give full play to the ideological and political leadership role of young people, implement the “Young Marxist Training Project” well, and at the same time, based on polishing the traditional brand projects of our university’s youth league work, further stimulate the vitality of youth league organizations at all levels, and create innovative brand projects that meet the needs of local development in our city and the requirements of talent cultivation in our university in practice, on the afternoon of November 21st, our university held the launch ceremony of the 20th Student Academic Science and Technology Festival of Shijiazhuang University and the opening ceremony of the 2024-2025 Young Marxist Training Project for the academic year, at the same time commended the units and individuals who have demonstrated outstanding performance in the 20th College Student Culture and Art Festival and summer group study work. Chen Liang, Secretary of the Party Committee, and Feng Baoqiang, Vice President, attended the ceremony. More than 300 people from various colleges, including Party branch secretaries, deputy secretaries, Youth League branch secretaries, counselor representatives, and student representatives, attended the ceremony.

At the meeting, Chen Liang opened the 20th Academic Science and Technology Festival of our university. Feng Baoqiang delivered a speech. He affirmed the achievements of our school’s youth league work since the beginning of this year, the contributions made in implementing the school’s “1396” development strategy, and the role of the “Youth Horse Project” in improving the political literacy and comprehensive ability of the backbone of the youth league. On behalf of the school, he put forward three requirements for the vast number of young students and youth league staff: The first point is to firmly believe in and bravely move forward with the determination of “firmly grasping the green mountains and not relaxing”. The second point is to have the courage to lead by example and climb high peaks with the spirit of “sailing directly to the sea”. The third one is to face difficulties and forge ahead with the perseverance of “never return until Loulan is broken”.

Shi Cha, Director of the Student Affairs Department and Secretary of the Youth League Committee, read out the “Decision of the Communist Party of China Shijiazhuang College Committee on Commending Excellent Organizations and Individuals for the 2024 Summer Theme Practice Activity of ‘Experiencing Provincial Conditions and Serving the Masses’”, “The Decision of the CPC Shijiazhuang College Committee on Commending Exemplary Organization and Exemplary Individual in the 2024 Summer Counselors’ ‘Everyone Visit’ Activity”, and “The Decision of the Communist Youth League Shijiazhuang College Committee on Commending ‘Twenty Years of Glory, Brilliant Art Academy, Magnificent Art Academy’ Shijiazhuang College to Commemorate the 20th Anniversary of Upgrading and the 20th University Student Culture and Art Festival Advanced Collectives and Outstanding Individuals”.

Zhao Jie, Deputy Secretary of the Youth League Committee, read out the “Notice of the Communist Youth League Shijiazhuang College Committee on Holding the 20th Shijiazhuang College Student Academic Science and Technology Festival of ‘Science and Technology Innovation for the Country’” and the “Implementation Plan for the 2024-2025 Youth Horse Project”. The attending school leaders presented awards to the winning collectives and individuals for the work of the Youth League.

The College Student Academic Science and Technology Festival is a traditional brand project of our university’s group learning activities. It has been successfully held for 19 consecutive sessions, achieving the founding goals of creating an academic and technological atmosphere for students, cultivating their innovative and creative abilities, and improving the quality of talent cultivation. This academic and technological festival held 17 school level activities, covering professional skills competitions, software operation competitions, AI work competitions, and other content.

After the ceremony, Zhang Zilin, the dean of the School of Marxism, delivered a wonderful lecture to the current batch of young Marxist students on the topic of “Learning Xi Jinping’s Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and Becoming a Young Marxist with Firm Beliefs”.

The Youth League Committee will closely focus on the development strategy deployment of the school's “1396”, carefully plan and solidly promote our school’s “Young Marxist Training Project”, create characteristics and levels, and take the Academic Science and Technology Festival as an opportunity to continuously build a platform for young teachers and students to improve their comprehensive literacy, contributing youthful strength to our school's “second entrepreneurship” and construction of a first-class applied university.
