Recently, after successfully completing the agenda, the third session of the 14th National People's Congress of Hebei Province and the third session of the 13th CPPCC of Hebei Province successfully closed in Shijiazhuang. During the meeting, Chen Liang, Secretary of the Party Committee of our University, Wang Junqi, director of the Academic Affairs Office, Shi Yonggui, dean of the School of Economics and Management, and Liu Hong, dean of Nule International College, as members and representatives of the "Two Sessions", actively offered suggestions, with a high sense of responsibility and mission.
The insights and good strategies of the members, representatives and overseas Chinese representatives of our university have been widely concerned and continuously reported by the media such as Hebei Daily, Hebei Workers' Daily and Overviews News client application, and have been affirmed and positively responded by relevant government departments, fully demonstrating the sound, level and image of Shijiazhuang University in the "Two Sessions".
Chen Liang, member of the CPPCC Committee of Hebei Province and Secretary of the Party Committee of the University, introduced the practices of our university in strengthening exchanges and cooperation with Macau University of Science and Technology, City University of Macau, as well as overseas universities and educational institutions. Our university has constructed a new pattern of all-round, multi-level and multi-field cultural exchanges by holding a series of activities such as the Exchange and Study Program for Young Ambassadors from San Francisco, USA, the screening of the film "Kangxi and Louis XIV" and the academic exchange meeting themed "Commemorating the 60th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between China and France and Promoting Global Civilization Exchanges", and the "Glorious Lights, Dreaming in Macau - The 25th Anniversary of Macau's Return to the Motherland" Photography Tour Exhibition.
Chen Liang said that the CPPCC is not only a platform for consensus building, and advice and consultation collecting, but also a platform for cooperation and exchange. The signing of the strategic cooperation agreement between our university and the Macao University of Science and Technology is due to the "bridging" role of the provincial CPPCC.
Chen Liang pointed out that Hebei has very rich cultural resources, and through the platform provided by the CPPCC, it can connect with Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan compatriots and overseas Chinese, carry out some cultural exchange activities, and show our excellent traditional culture, and also show Hebei's economic development achievements through colorful cultural exchange activities, and tell China's story and Hebei's story.
Chen Liang also put forward suggestions on issues such as the construction of application-oriented universities, talent cultivation, and the transformation of scientific research achievements. First, further strengthen the classification reform of colleges and universities, and guide more universities to transform into application-oriented ones through improving relevant incentive and supportive policies; second, pay more attention to the integration of industry and education, school-enterprise cooperation, and collaborative education, closely aligning with the talent demands of leading industries to cultivate application-oriented talents; third, attach greater importance to the transformation of scientific research achievements, solve technical problems for counties and small and medium-sized enterprises, and enhance the ability to serve regional economic and social development.
Wang Junqi, representative of the People's Congress of Hebei Province and the director of the Academic Affairs Office of our university, stated that the new era of intelligent manufacturing has put forward newer and higher requirements for the improvement of vocational skills of industrial workers. He suggested that universities should intensify the adjustment of professional structure around the intelligent manufacturing industry, and cultivate a group of high-quality talents that meet the development needs of the intelligent manufacturing industry. At the same time, in the process of talent cultivation, more emphasis should be placed on the cultivation of students' practical application abilities, the cultivation of students' cross-disciplinary integration abilities. The connection between talent cultivation and advanced technologies and industrial applications should be given more attention.
Shi Yonggui, a representative of the People's Congress of Hebei Province and the dean of the School of Economics and Management, suggested that in order to implement the task of receiving and relocating enterprises and refine and improve the incentive policies for relocation in Xiongan New Area, the new area should establish a support model of "special funds + industrial funds", set up special funds for collaborative innovation in receiving and relocating enterprises and investment funds for the relocation of central enterprises and major scientific and technological achievements transformation funds, and introduce more incentive policies. This will enable relocated central enterprises to play a greater role in building an innovation chain in Xiongan, ensuring that the relocated enterprises can come, stay and develop well.
Liu Hong, a representative of overseas Chinese in the Hebei Provincial CPPCC and Dean of Nule International College, proposed that relevant government departments should proactively engage with overseas associations. This would enable more Chinese diaspora youth to return home and experience Chinese culture firsthand, witness China’s rapid development, and serve as ambassadors to effectively communicate the stories of Hebei. Additionally, he recommended to actively integrate the province's distinctive, representative, and influential products into a comprehensive collection of Hebei brands. By leveraging the overseas networks of Chinese community leaders in various countries, this initiative aims to collaboratively enhance the global influence of Hebei brands in international markets.
After the successful completion of the conference agenda, the committee members, representatives and overseas Chinese representatives returned to the university with new goals and new missions. They said that they should bring the spirit and results of the "Two Sessions" back to the school, share them with teachers and students, deeply learn , and quickly transform the spirit of the "Two Sessions" into a strong driving force to promote the continuous development of various undertakings in our university.
