Faculty Members of the College of Science Achieve Excellent Results in the Preliminary Competition of the National Young Teachers’ Lecture Competition for Basic Physics Courses (Hebei Division)
Recently, the 2025 Preliminary Competition of the National Young Teachers’ Lecture Competition for Basic Physics Courses in Universities (Hebei Division) successfully concluded. Li Jinhua, a faculty member of the College of Science, won the first prize in the Hebei Division, while Wang Tiening won the second prize.
Hosted by the Hebei Provincial Physical Society and the North China Working Committee of the Teaching Steering Committee for College Physics Courses of the Ministry of Education, and undertaken by Yanshan University, the competition consisted of two stages: teaching video review and on-site competition. Adopting a format of random topic selection and time-limited lesson preparation, the event rigorously assessed the participants’ fundamental teaching skills, innovative teaching abilities, and course design proficiency. More than just a platform for teaching skills competition, it also provided an excellent opportunity for young physics teachers from various universities across Hebei Province to showcase their teaching achievements and exchange pedagogical experiences.
The College of Science has always prioritized faculty development and the enhancement of teaching quality as its core mission. These accolades fully demonstrate the remarkable achievements the college has made in the reform of fundamental course instruction. Moving forward, the college will continue to implement the university’s “13510”- Young Teachers’ Cultivation and Shaping Project, adhering to the principle of “promoting teaching through competition” and “empowering teachers through professional development”. By providing more growth opportunities and developmental space for young faculty members, the college aims to continuously improve the quality of education and talent cultivation.
