On May 29th, our university held a special conference and expert lecture on teachers’ ethics and style. More than 200 people, including all school leaders, middle-level cadres, and teacher representatives, attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Vice President Feng Baoqiang.

At the special conference, Chen Liang, the Secretary of the Party Committee, deeply expounded the extreme importance of teachers’ ethics construction for the high-quality development of the university’s cause, and affirmed the remarkable achievements made by the university in teachers’ ethics construction. In recent years, through measures such as strengthening top-level design, improving the institutional framework, innovating activity forms, and cultivating advanced models, many teachers have shown a good style of firm belief, noble ethics, and dedication to their jobs. The university has been awarded 6 provincial-level exemplary teachers and 11 advanced models such as outstanding teachers and educators at the city level. The “Candlelight · Spark” ideological and political theory course teacher team led by Vice President Li Juan was awarded the first batch of “Huang Danian-style teacher teams in Hebei provincial universities” .

Chen Liang pointed out that teachers’ ethics is not only related to the fundamental plan of education, but also affects the social reputation of the teaching profession and the external image of the university. All departments and units should, first of all, improve their awareness of the importance, incorporate the construction of teachers' ethics into the Party building and daily work system, and take the study and education of the spirit of the eight-point decision of the Central Committee as an opportunity to make unremitting efforts. Second, they should compact the main responsibility, establish a supervision and inspection mechanism, carry out self-examination and self-correction, and eliminate potential hazards in teachers’ ethics. Third, they should strengthen education and guidance, implement teachers’ work and study plans, innovate educational forms, and lay a solid ideological foundation. Fourth, they should strengthen the leading role of models, improve the school’s internal honor system, innovate publicity forms, and give play to the exemplary role of typical cases.

At the lecture, Professor Huang Fuyuan, the Deputy Dean of the School of Continuing Education of Hebei Normal University, combined with practical work and took the theme of “Earnestly Implementing General Secretary Xi Jinping’s Important Expositions on Education and Being a Practitioner and Devotee of Building a Strong Education Country”. From the aspects of the strategic significance of building a strong education country, General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important expositions on education, and the interpretation of the core values of the spirit of educators, he presented a teachers’ ethics education course with ideological depth, practical warmth and the height of the times for the participants. Teachers have said that the content of the lecture is progressive and interlinked, with both high-level policy interpretations and educational guidance close to the front line, and they have been deeply inspired.

This special conference further unified thinking and gathered consensus, injecting new impetus into the construction of teachers’ ethics in the university. Taking this meeting as an opportunity, the university will effectively implement various requirements for the construction of teachers’ ethics, and strive to build a high-quality teaching staff with excellent political quality, exquisite professional ability and superb educational level, providing a solid guarantee for cultivating socialist builders and successors with all-round development of morality, intelligence, physique, aesthetics and labor, and promoting the high-quality development of the university.
