On the afternoon of June 4th, the School of Journalism and Communication held an exhibition of “Digital Media Technology Practice Teaching Works”. President Wang Yongqin and Vice President Li Juan participated in the exhibition, while the main leaders of the Academic Affairs Office, Network Information Center, Experimental Training Center, the leadership team of the School of Journalism and Media, all full-time teachers, and graduate representatives attended the event.

This exhibition showcases the achievements and explorations of the Digital Media Technology major in the School of Journalism and Communication in practical teaching. The attendees experienced virtual reality works such as “Roaming Shi University” and had in-depth exchanges with teachers and students. They highly praised the innovative ability and teaching effectiveness of students majoring in digital media technology.

Tian Jianen, Vice Dean of the School of Journalism and Communication, reported on the overall layout and development trend of practical teaching in the college, focusing on optimizing experimental and practical training courses, creating a project-based practical teaching system, and improving the operation mechanism of studios. Three key members of the Digital Media Technology major provided a detailed introduction on how specific cases such as “Digital Twin Campus”and AIGC works can cultivate students’ core professional abilities and innovative thinking spirit in teaching practice.

Wang Yongqin stated in her speech that this exhibition is of high level and creativity, and is the result of years of teaching reform and professional construction at the New Communication College. She pointed out that artificial intelligence has brought profound technological and industrial changes to today’s society, which in turn have led to systemic changes in higher education. The educational reform in the era of artificial intelligence ultimately needs to be achieved through teaching reform, and the key is the transformation of the high-quality applied talent training mode. It is necessary to focus on cultivating students’ profound humanistic feelings, solid professional foundation, and innovative and enterprising spirit. She hopes that the teachers and students of the School of Journalism and Communication will continue to effectively implement the fundamental task of cultivating morality and talents, deepen the mechanism of industry education collaboration, and provide more high-quality applied talents with solid theoretical foundations, outstanding practical abilities, and active innovative thinking to society, contributing the wisdom of the School to serve local economic and social development.
