To further study and implement the spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, enhance interpretation and publicity, and leverage the advantages of the social science platform, on May 30th, the 2025 Shijiazhuang Social Science Popularization Month, hosted by the Shijiazhuang Academy of Social Sciences (Shijiazhuang Social Science Association), was successfully launched in our university. The theme of this Social Science Popularization Month is "Deeply Study and Implement the Spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and Contribute Shijiazhuang's Strength to Writing a New Chapter of Modernization in Hebei Province with Chinese Characteristics." Attendees at the opening ceremony included Guo Jianting, member of the Standing Committee of the Shijiazhuang Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China, Minister of Propaganda, Minister of United Front Work, and Chairperson of the Shijiazhuang Social Science Association; Xiao Lifeng, member of the Party Group and Vice President of the Hebei Academy of Social Sciences and Vice Chairperson of the Hebei Social Science Association; Yu Yanhong, President of the Shijiazhuang Academy of Social Sciences, Director of the Shijiazhuang Municipal Party School, and Executive Vice Chairperson of the Shijiazhuang Social Science Association; Wang Yongqin, President of our university; and Feng Baoqiang, Vice President of our university. Other attendances were relevant leaders from the provincial and municipal Social Science Associations, as well as over 300 experts, scholars, and social science workers from the publicity departments of various counties (cities, districts), the research departments of universities in Shijiazhuang, and representatives of municipal social science associations, who gathered to exchange ideas.

Guo Jianting pointed out in her speech that this year marks the conclusion of the 14th Five-Year Plan and the beginning of the planning for the 15th Five-Year Plan. It is of vital importance for our city to achieve a GDP of over one trillion yuan and make a leap forward. She put forward three requirements for the social science work: First, it is necessary to enhance political awareness and guide the development of philosophy and social sciences with the correct direction. Second, it is essential to closely follow the main theme and line, innovate the carriers and contents, and promote the popularization of social sciences to the grassroots level. Third, it is necessary to serve the overall situation and contribute to the construction of a modern and internationalized beautiful provincial capital city with high-level social science work. It is essential to empower high-quality development with high-level social science research and contribute social science strength to the accelerated construction of a modern and internationalized beautiful provincial capital city.

Wang Yongqin delivered a speech at the opening ceremony, representing all the teachers and students, expressing warm welcome and heartfelt gratitude to the friends from the social science circle who have long been concerned and supportive of our university's cause. She also reviewed and summarized the school's achievements in social science research, social science popularization, serving society, and international exchanges. She stated that in the new journey of "renewing the enterprise twice", our university has unswervingly implemented the "1396" development strategy, and the scientific research work has shown a vigorous and upward development momentum. Our university will strongly support the development of philosophy and social sciences, gather first-class teams, strengthen the characteristics of disciplines, and make greater breakthroughs in all aspects such as talent cultivation, scientific research innovation, policy advice and consultation, and social services, making greater contributions to the economic and social development of Shijiazhuang.

The launch ceremony event consists of four sections: the opening ceremony, thematic lectures, results exhibition, and interactive experiences. At the opening ceremony, the leaders of the Municipal Society for Social Sciences made arrangements and deployments for the "2025 Shijiazhuang Social Sciences Popularization Month" activities, presented plaques to the three newly-named "Shijiazhuang Municipal Social Sciences Popularization Bases", and presented promotional videos to four municipal social sciences popularization bases. After the opening ceremony, two special lectures were held. The sub-conference invited Senior Editor Zhong Yang from Hebei Radio and Television Station to deliver a report on the international and domestic situation, guiding everyone to correctly understand the international and domestic circumstances, and to firmly follow the Party and firmly have confidence in development.

The holding of this event not only provides a platform for communication and cooperation among the social science circles in Shijiazhuang, but also promotes social science knowledge to reach the general public in a rich variety of forms, helping to enhance the public's cultural literacy and social civilization level. A series of popular science activities will be carried out throughout the city, promoting the innovative theories of the Party to "reach every household", and contributing Shijiazhuang's strength to writing the chapter of China-style modernization in Hebei.
