President Wang Yongqin Led a Team to the Shijiazhuang Educational Research Base of the School of Economics of Beijing University in Wuji County to Conduct a Research Study on Industry-education Integration
In order to deepen the cooperation between university and enterprises, promote the in-depth integration of industry, academia, and research, and support the high-quality development of the regional economy, on the morning of June 11, President Wang Yongqin and Vice President Li Juan, along with the leadership teams from the Academic Affairs Office and the School of Economic Management, as well as representatives of teachers from the Digital Economy program, visited the Shijiazhuang Educational and Research Base of the School of Economics of Beijing University in Wuji County to conduct a research on the integration of education and industry. The Wuji County Party Secretary Feng Lixin and County Mayor Liu Yan participated in the research exchange.
At the symposium, President Wang Yongqin introduced the basic information regarding the school’s history, professional programs, disciplinary characteristics, integration of industry and education, and internationalization efforts. She emphasized that Shijiazhuang University has always regarded serving the local economic and social development as its mission. Wuji County has distinctive industrial characteristics that align well with the school’s disciplines and programs. In the future, there should be a comprehensive strengthening of cooperation with Wuji County, promoting the establishment and improvement of a normalized communication and exchange mechanism as well as a long-term, systematic cooperation mechanism. Together, we will build research and development platforms, teams, and bases, deepen research cooperation, and strengthen talent alignment to provide more intellectual and talent support for the high-quality development of Wuji County. Vice President Li Juan proposed specific suggestions for innovating the integration of industry and education models, expanding quality internship resources, and jointly establishing internship bases. Dean Shi Yonggui of the School of Economic Management, along with participating faculty, exchanged views on potential areas of cooperation.
The Secretary of the Wuji County Committee, Feng Lixin, and County Mayor Liu Yan provided a detailed introduction to the resource advantages and distinctive industrial development of Wuji County. He stated that since the trial operation of the teaching and research base last year, it has fully leveraged its “golden signboard” role, exploring a development model that integrates education with industry and urban development, thereby accumulating significant momentum for growth. Wuji County places great importance on collaboration with Shijiazhuang University and hopes to utilize various methods, such as co-establishing a modern industry college, to empower local industrial upgrades with the intellectual resources of higher education institutions. Representatives from the Wuji County Education Bureau, relevant county departments, and enterprises participated in the symposium.
