On the morning of June 24th, our university held a symposium on grassroots organization construction work in the conference room on the fourth floor to thoroughly implement the overall requirements of Party building in the new era and further improve the quality of Party building work. Chen Liang, Secretary of the Party Committee, and Ji Lihuai, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, attended the meeting. All Party branch secretaries, directly affiliated Party branch secretaries, and relevant personnel from the Organization Department also attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Ji Lihuai.

Chen Liang pointed out that since the second Party Congress proposed the goal of “leading and guaranteeing first-class applied universities with first-class Party building”, and by 2023, the “1396” development strategy has been put forward, the key leading role of Party building in the development process of the school has become increasingly prominent, and various undertakings of the school have shown a vigorous upward trend. Party building work is a solid guiding force for tackling key tasks such as applying for the master’s degree and strengthening undergraduate programs. Only by continuously exerting efforts and deepening our work can we promote Party building work to reach new heights and achieve new breakthroughs. As the basic units of grassroots party organizations, party branches are the “last mile” for the party to connect with teachers and students. The quality and effectiveness of their construction are directly related to the implementation of the party’s line, principles, and policies throughout the university, the steady progress of the “1396” development strategy, and the successful completion of the fundamental task of cultivating virtue and talent. When promoting party building work, it is necessary to place the construction of party branches in a more prominent position, and effectively grasp it in hand, keep it in mind, and implement it in action.

Chen Liang also emphasized that efforts should be made to improve the quality and efficiency of grassroots party building work from the following five aspects, focusing on this year’s key work tasks. The first is to build a solid ideological foundation and solidify the main battlefield of political construction; the second is to improve quality and efficiency, gather the strength of teachers and students, and activate new driving forces for organizational construction; the third is to strengthen the foundation, consolidate the management of party members, and train the vanguard of the party member team; the fourth is to uphold strict discipline and discipline, strictly promote the construction of work style, and build a strong firewall of rules and regulations; the fifth is to innovate and create excellence, explore our own characteristics, and create a new benchmark for party building brands.

At the meeting, the Party branch secretaries of the School of Marxism, School of Chemical Engineering, School of Foreign Languages, School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, and Future Information Technology College exchanged ideas on the standardization and normalization of Party building work, Party member education and management, Party building brand creation, and deep integration of Party building and business.

Ji Lihuai required all grassroots party organizations to first raise their political stance and deepen their ideological understanding, focus on key tasks and ensure the implementation of work and strengthen their sense of responsibility, form a working force, and effectively lead the high-quality development of the university’s cause with high-quality grassroots party building work.

The convening of this meeting further pointed out the direction and clarified the tasks for the construction of grassroots party organizations in the university. Grassroots party organizations stated that under the strong leadership of the school party committee and with political construction as the guide, they will further strengthen the fighting fortress of party branches and the exemplary role of party members, providing strong organizational guarantees for the implementation of the university’s “1396” development strategy.
