Students from our school achieved excellent results in the 20th National Intelligent Car Competition for College Students (North China Region)

From July 16th to 18th, the 20th National Intelligent Car Competition for College Students (North China Region) was held at Tianjin University of Applied Technology. Our school sent 7 teams to participate in this competition. They finally achieved excellent results, winning 2 first prizes, 4 second prizes and 1 third prize. Among them, 2 teams advanced to the national competition.
This competition is hosted by the Chinese Association of Automation and organized by the Sino-German University of Applied Sciences. The competition takes speed racing as its basic form and is divided into ten groups: miniature electromagnetic, miniature photoelectric, ultra-fast photoelectric, balance wheel legs, dual-vehicle following, unicycle beacon, intelligent vision, ultra-fast off-road, air cushion off-road and full model. It has attracted 105 universities from Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, Henan and other places. Nearly 500 teams participated. The Academic Affairs Office of our school pays close attention to and fully supports the students' participation in the competition. The School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering has meticulously organized and carefully prepared for the competition. After more than four months of concentrated training, seven teams repeatedly debugged and optimized their structural design and programs, completing the full-process preparation from theoretical reinforcement to practical exercises. The students' engineering practice ability and teamwork ability have been significantly enhanced. They achieved excellent results again in this competition, fully demonstrating the remarkable achievements of our school in innovation and entrepreneurship education.
The National Intelligent Car Competition for College Students is a national-level discipline and skills competition for college students supported by the “Quality Project” of the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Finance. It has been approved by the Ministry of Education to be included in the national Teaching Quality and Teaching Reform Project for funding. It covers knowledge from multiple disciplines such as control, artificial intelligence, pattern recognition, sensor technology, electronics, electrical engineering, computer science, and mechanical engineering. It has been successfully held for nineteen sessions so far, with a total of over 650,000 students participating.
