On August 1, our university, together with the Shijiazhuang Municipal Science and Technology Bureau (Municipal Foreign Experts Bureau), the Shijiazhuang Municipal Market Supervision Administration, and the Science and Technology Bureau of Shijiazhuang High-tech Industrial Development Zone, jointly held an exchange and training session on helping enterprises attract overseas talents and internationalize brand management. The International Exchange and Cooperation Center specially invited Professor Christoph Burmann, a world-renowned brand management expert and Dean of the Trinity College in Marketing, Brand and Technology Research at the University of Bremen, Germany, to give a keynote speech.
At the beginning of the training session, President Wang Yongqin met with Professor Christoph Burmann and extended a warm welcome and sincere gratitude for his visit and lecture. She introduced the university’s development history, educational facilities, faculty team, talent cultivation, and progress in international exchange and cooperation. She expressed hope for further discussions on professional training, collaborative education, and cultural and artistic exchanges. Professor Christoph Burmann said he was delighted to meet his old friend again, remarking that Shijiazhuang University is a beautiful and open institution and he looked forward to strengthening exchanges and cooperation in areas such as international talent cultivation and cross-cultural exchange. On behalf of the university, President Wang Yongqin presented Professor Christoph Burmann with an honorary professorship certificate.
Subsequently, Professor Christoph Burmann conducted the brand management training, where he combined theoretical knowledge with practical experience to provide an in-depth analysis of classic brand management cases. He shared key skills and methodologies for achieving brand internationalization, giving participating enterprises a deeper understanding of international brand management. Over 80 participants attended the training, including leaders and faculty representatives from the School of Economics and Management, the School of Fine Arts and Design, and the Laboratory Training Center; relevant officials from municipal and county-level science and technology bureaus and market supervision bureaus; and representatives from domestic and international companies and research institutes in the fields of biopharmaceuticals, new-generation information technology, and advanced manufacturing technology.
The successful hosting of this training program exemplifies our university's commitment to supporting Shijiazhuang's socioeconomic development by leveraging Shijiazhuang University's resources to build an international expert exchange platform for local enterprises. This initiative has effectively expanded channels for introducing overseas expertise while enhancing management efficiency and international brand operation capabilities. Going forward, the International Exchange and Cooperation Center will continue to actively connect with high-quality educational resources in Germany and other developed countries, firmly implement the key foreign affairs task to improve quality through continuous efforts and advance the implementation of the achieved outcomes of the Germany-Hungary delegation visit through higher-level international educational exchange activities.
