Recently, the results of the 6th Hebei Provincial Capital Campus Drama Festival were officially announced. The play Eternal Life in the Flames submitted by the School of Chemical Engineering and the School of Biomedical Sciences of our university won the title of "Outstanding Play" with its excellent performance. Wang Siyu, a student of the 2023 Sino-Korean Joint Program in Pharmaceutical Engineering, who played Jiang Zhujun in the play, was awarded the title of "Campus Drama Star", and the instructor Wang Weibo was honored as "Outstanding Instructor".
This year's drama festival was initiated by the Publicity Department of the CPC Shijiazhuang Municipal Committee and co-hosted by the Hebei Drama Association. With the theme of "Boundless Drama, Soaring towards the Light", it has established a high-end platform for campus drama exchanges and learning through forms such as campus performances of outstanding works and the incubation of high-quality drama creations. Since its launch in September 2024, the event has attracted numerous outstanding plays from provincial-level institutions and cities including Shijiazhuang, Tangshan, Xingtai, and Handan to participate in the evaluation. After strict reviews by industry experts, ten "Top Ten Plays" and thirteen "Campus Drama Stars" were ultimately selected.
In 2024, the college student drama troupe of School of Chemical Engineering and the School of Biomedical Sciences, which was self-produced, self-directed and self-performed, presented the play Eternal Life in Flames, which was adapted from the classic red novel Red Rock. The play was successfully staged 7 times both on and off campus, attracting a total of 3,000 viewers. It received widespread praise from the audience. Many central and provincial mainstream media outlets, such as Guangming Daily, Xinhua News Agency Client, and Ji Yun Client, reported on this play.
The heads of School of Chemical Engineering and the School of Biomedical Sciences stated that they will continue to uphold the concept of "cultivating people through culture and educating people with culture", deeply explore red cultural resources, and strive to create high-quality plays with both profound ideological depth and high artistic standards. They will continuously enhance the comprehensive literacy and patriotic sentiments of young students, and promote the implementation of the new era's socialist thought in the hearts and minds of young people, ensuring its solidification and rooting in the grassroots level.
