Recently, the 2025 National College Student Surveying and Mapping Discipline Innovation and Entrepreneurship Intelligence Competition, hosted by the Education Working Committee of the Chinese Society of Surveying and Mapping and organized by Inner Mongolia University of Science and Technology, was held at Inner Mongolia University of Science and Technology. After intense competition, our university ultimately won one special prize, one first prize, and one second prize with outstanding results.

 

This year’s competition is the third edition of the competition after it entered the “2023 National College Student Competition Analysis Report” competition directory. More than 7000 students from nearly 400 universities across the country have registered to participate, and the scale and influence of the competition have reached a new high. The competition has three events, including surveying skills competition (virtual simulation digital mapping, unmanned aerial vehicle aerial survey virtual simulation, airborne radar virtual simulation, surveying program design), development and design competition (innovative development, innovative design, entrepreneurial plan), and scientific paper competition. Participants participated online and judges evaluated offline.

The School of Geographic Science and Environment has always attached great importance to the role of competition platforms in promoting talent cultivation. It has organized special seminars for subject teachers multiple times, from studying competition policies, building participating teams, to refining training plans, and meticulously discussing and deploying them one by one. This competition showcases the solid professional skills and innovative abilities of teachers and students majoring in Geographic Information Science at our university, and injects confidence into the cultivation of applied talents in the field.
