On September 17th, our school and Hebei Artists Association jointly organized the “Desert Story - Li Bo’s Works Exhibition” in the public art space on the first floor of the library. Chen Liang, Secretary of the Party Committee, and Ji Lihuai, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, attended the opening ceremony. Qi Haifeng, Vice Chairman of the China Artists Association and Chairman of the Hebei Artists Association, Jin Baoshuan, former Director of Hebei Provincial Education Department, Jia Jiguang, famous cross-talk performer of Rocket Force Art Troupe and national first-class actor, Cui Qiang, Dean of the School of Fine Arts and Design of Hebei Normal University and Vice Chairman of the Hebei Artists Association, Liu Ji, former head of the Quyi Acrobatic Troupe of the China Railway Art Troupe and national first-class actor, and other well-known artists and student representatives attended the ceremony.
Chen Liang announced the opening of ceremony in a lively atmosphere.
In his speech, Ji Lihuai first reviewed the development history of the school, focusing on the achievements of the school under the guidance of the “1396” development strategy, and expressed sincere gratitude to the artists and supporting units present at the scene. He pointed out that the library adheres to the guidance of the “1396” development strategy, constantly innovates service models, and has achieved significant results in building a campus cultural highland and serving the overall goal of moral education and talent cultivation. Looking towards the future, he put forward three expectations for libraries. One is to deepen the educational function of “great ideological and political education”, guiding teachers and students to perceive patriotism in aesthetics. The second is to expand the path of general education, promote the branding of activities, and facilitate interdisciplinary integration. The third is to innovate the service management mode and build a smart library that helps teachers and students develop comprehensively.
Painter Li Bo expressed his gratitude to Shijiazhuang University for providing a valuable platform in his speech. He was also grateful to all the friends who supported and cared for him. He will continue to devote himself to artistic creation and showcase the vitality of traditional art in contemporary times.
The exhibition hall displays 36 works created by Li Bo, constructing two profound narrative dimensions. In the paintings, sand, gravel, and rough textures are integrated into oil paint, and the gray and white tones are imprinted with the vastness of the northern desert, turning the earth into containers that carry individual loneliness and the echoes of the times. In the installation work, the snowflake dots flickering on the old TV screen, the deconstructed books, and the sense of order in the grid structure all collide with the material and the virtual, allowing the audience to touch the vibration frequency of collective memory in the digital age.
This exhibition is an important measure for the library to implement the “Cultural Campus” scene of our school, which is of great significance for creating a rich cultural atmosphere in our campus, inheriting excellent ethnic art genes, and enhancing the humanistic and artistic literacy of teachers and students. The exhibition will continue until November 17th.
