On September 19, our university held a summary meeting on the in-depth study and education of the spirit of the Central Eight-Point Regulation. The meeting reviewed the effectiveness and experience of the study and education campaign, and discussed plans to consolidate the outcomes of the campaign while promoting the regular and long-term improvement of work conduct. The meeting was presided over by Party Committee Secretary Chen Liang, who also delivered a speech. Attendees included Deputy Party Committee Secretary and President Wang Yongqin, Deputy Party Committee Secretary Ji Lihui, and Vice President Feng Baoqiang.

At the meeting, Ji Lihui first conveyed the important instructions of the General Secretary on the in-depth study and education of the spirit of the Central Eight-Point Regulation, as well as the spirit of the meetings of the Party Building Leadership Groups at the central, provincial, and municipal levels.

Chen Liang provided a comprehensive summary of the university’s efforts in carrying out the study and education campaign on the in-depth implementation of the spirit of the Central Eight-Point Regulation. He pointed out that since the campaign was launched in March of this year, the university’s Party Committee, in strict accordance with the deployment requirements of the Central Committee and provincial/municipal authorities, has treated the campaign as an important political task, making careful arrangements and meticulous efforts to ensure its effective implementation. Notable achievements have been made through the following measures:

Leading by example to strengthen guidance, leveraging the “leading goose” effect of the “key minority” to create a positive situation where each level drives the next and responsibilities are fulfilled at every tier;

Deepening study and reflection to build a solid foundation, enhancing exchanges and discussions to genuinely raise the ideological and action-oriented consciousness of Party members and cadres in implementing the spirit of the Central Eight-Point Regulation;

Focusing on rectification and improvement to foster new conduct, addressing the urgent and pressing concerns of faculty and students while promoting a culture of responsibility and integrity;

Keeping doors open for feedback to build consensus, actively responding to the concerns of faculty and students to pool efforts for the high-quality development of the university.

He emphasized the need to further enhance political stance, consolidate and expand the outcomes of the study and education campaign, persevere in implementing the spirit of the Central Eight-Point Regulation, and continuously deepen and solidify the improvement of work conduct.

Chen Liang stressed that work conduct is crucial to winning public support and determining the success or failure of endeavors. Taking this study and education campaign as a new starting point, efforts must be sustained with perseverance. It is essential to improve the long-term mechanism for identifying and resolving issues, fully implement the important requirements of “Five Further Improvements”, and continue to address persistent problems such as formalism and bureaucratism, thereby promoting the regular, institutionalized, and refined improvement of work conduct. Political oversight should be strengthened, with a focus on key areas and critical positions, to ensure meticulous supervision and discipline enforcement. The development of mechanisms for preventing integrity risks should be deepened, advancing the comprehensive and strict governance of the Party with stringent standards and practical measures to foster a clean and upright political ecosystem. Efforts should also focus on strengthening the foundation, ensuring the rigorous implementation of systems, enhancing whole-process supervision, inspection, and follow-up evaluation, and establishing sound mechanisms for identifying and early warning of integrity risks. The fine tradition of seeking truth and pragmatism should be upheld, guiding Party members, cadres, and faculty across the university to concentrate on their primary responsibilities of teaching and educating students. With new breakthroughs and achievements in improving work conduct, the university will vigorously advance the implementation of the “1396” development strategy, providing strong support for accelerating the construction of a first-class application-oriented university!
