On the evening of September 20, the second session of “My Youth, My Song”- the 2025 Hebei University Youth Song Festival was successfully held at our university’s South Campus Shangwen Auditorium. This concert was jointly organized by our university and Great Wall New Media Group, providing a splendid audio-visual feast for faculty and students alike. Attendees included members of the Provincial Party Committee Publicity Department, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Journalists Association Cui Wenwu, Director of the Provincial Military Region Transition Office Liu Songfeng, members of Great Wall New Media Group’s leadership team including Zhang Guofeng, President of Hebei Economic Daily, as well as Chen Liang, Secretary of our university’s Party Committee and Deputy Secretary Ji Lihua. Over 800 representatives from faculty and students along with guests from various sectors attended this musical event.
All performances in this concert were meticulously prepared and executed by teachers and students from the School of International Arts-“Yueda”. The concert commenced with a stirring rendition of “Defend the Yellow River” performed by the “Shangyue Choir”; its powerful vocals instantly ignited an enthusiastic atmosphere that transported audiences back to those tumultuous years filled with struggle. Following this opening piece were classic folk songs such as “Honghu Waves”, excerpts from the opera “Yimeng Mountain”, a situational music poem titled “Red Boat Ode: Flag Rising”, modern youth songs like “Longing” and “Pursuit”, among others. The performers skillfully blended iconic works from different historical periods with contemporary spirit through their exceptional artistry and fervent passion, presenting audiences with a vibrant tapestry depicting youthful musical expression across time. The concert concluded on a high note with all attendees joining in singing “Without the Communist Party There Would Be No New China”, creating an exhilarating finale. This event creatively combined red stories with musical performance through forms such as situational reenactments and poetry recitations; it vividly interpreted profound meanings behind revolutionary songs while allowing audiences to appreciate music alongside receiving deep ideological education rooted in red culture.
The activity not only served as a high-level artistic showcase but also functioned as an engaging yet profound “artistic political education”. It fully demonstrated our university’s successful integration of red cultural elements into aesthetic education while innovating ideological work through artistic means. In future endeavors, we will continue to lead initiatives centered around red education while organizing more diverse cultural activities aimed at enhancing synergies between red educational principles and artistic practice—ultimately fostering new generations capable of shouldering national rejuvenation responsibilities infused with dynamic energy.
