To continuously improve the quality of student work and strengthen the foundation of talent cultivation, our university held a regular student work meeting on the morning of October 10th. The Vice President Feng Baoqiang attended the meeting and delivered a speech, and the heads of the Party branches of each college also participated in the meeting.
At the meeting, Feng put forward three requirements for further improving the quality of student work: First, deepen care for student growth and precisely implement stratified guidance. For freshmen, the focus should be placed on their academic adaptation and campus integration, that is, helping them quickly adjust to university life through orientation programs, academic support, and student support. For graduating students, the study environment should be optimized and resource support should be provided for those preparing for postgraduate entrance exams. Targeted recruitment information and specialized career guidance should also be offered to the job seekers. Second, strengthen the construction of our education team and solidify the foundation for talent cultivation. On the one hand, the emphasis should be put on cultivating a robust student leadership pipeline. By establishing practical training platforms, conducting capacity-building training, and improving assessment and incentive mechanisms, their sense of responsibility and service capabilities will be enhanced. On the other hand, regular exchange and learning activities such as counselor workshops, themed forum, and professional training should be conducted to encourage counselors to update their educational philosophies and enhance their professional competencies, thereby providing solid support for student growth and development. Third, enhance strategic planning and systematically promote high-quality development of student work. Based on the university's high-quality development goals and talent development positioning, student work should be integrated into the overall development plan. Proactive assessment of student needs and key challenges at different stages, clarification of annual core tasks, clear division of responsibilities, regular research and reviews, and timely optimization of strategies are essential to ensure that student work resonates with the university’s development and provides targeted support for student growth.

Shi Cha, the Director of the Student Affairs Office, has made specific arrangements for key tasks such as the comprehensive mental health assessment of freshmen, the management of labor education bases, and the assessment of scholarships and grants.
