On the afternoon of October 11, Chen Liang, Secretary of the Party Committee, went deep into the School of Marxism to conduct a special investigation on the construction of ideological and political courses. Responsible persons of the School Office, the leading group of the School of Marxism, directors of teaching and research sections, and representatives of ideological and political course teachers attended the symposium.

At the symposium, Chen Liang pointed out that the Party Committee of the university has always attached great importance to the construction of ideological and political courses and the team of ideological and political course teachers. Ideological and political theory courses are the key courses for implementing the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education. The key to running ideological and political theory courses well lies in teachers and in giving play to their enthusiasm, initiative and creativity. He emphasized that the construction of ideological and political courses should focus on the university's work theme of "continuing to make efforts to improve quality" to enhance quality and efficiency.

First, it is necessary to strengthen top-level design and systematically plan new ideas for the construction of ideological and political courses. Adhere to the "two dos". First, it is necessary to have both the outline and the details, so that the outline can be followed and the details can be clarified, and further improve the work system of large-scale ideological and political courses. Third, it is necessary to deepen teaching reform and promote the innovation and effectiveness of ideological and political courses. Continue to encourage and support teachers to boldly explore reforms, constantly enrich teaching organization forms and methods, stimulate the autonomy and internal drive of teachers' teaching innovation, and strive to build a scientific and reasonable teacher assessment and evaluation mechanism to guide ideological and political course teachers to concentrate on imparting knowledge and educating students.

Chen Liang emphasized that the School of Marxism should further improve its political stance and solidly promote the connotative construction, reform and innovation of ideological and political courses. All ideological and political course teachers should earnestly shoulder the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education and make new and greater contributions to cultivating socialist builders and successors with all-round development of morality, intelligence, physical fitness, aesthetics and labor.

At the meeting, Zhang Zilin, Dean of the School of Marxism, reported the development ideas and specific measures for the construction of ideological and political courses in the school. The participating teachers conducted in-depth exchanges and discussions on the puzzles, challenges, reflections, innovative methods and teaching effects in teaching.
