Recently, the Third Hebei Provincial University Ethnic Dance Competition under the “Ethnic Unity Cup”, hosted by the Ethnic Affairs Commission of Hebei Province and the Education Department of Hebei Province, came to a successful conclusion. Three works submitted by School of Music stood out and achieved excellent results. The original dance work “Late Autumn Frost” won the first prize in performance, while “Cloud Gap Pastoral Song” and “Southern Yunnan Yingshao” won the third prize in performance.
The School of Music has formed a representative team led by Bai Yunfeng, the director of the Dance Teaching and Research Office, and excellent teachers Cao Ningning, Yuan Yuerong, Wang Yanzhuo, Luo Lina, and Xie Chentong as rehearsal teachers. The team consists of 39 outstanding students who create and rehearse diligently. The teachers and students are not afraid of hardships and work hard day and night, polishing every detail from precise control of dance movements to delicate handling of emotional expression. On stage, they gained unanimous recognition from expert judges with their agile dance moves, perfect coordination, and overflowing sincere emotions.
The theme of this competition is “Building the Chinese Dream Together as a Family of the Chinese Nation”, aiming to use dance art as a carrier to promote the education of building a sense of community for the Chinese nation, and to promote excellent traditional Chinese culture. A total of 380 dance works from 66 universities participated, with a grand scale and fierce competition.
