On the afternoon of December 30, our university held the Erudition Forum and the special activity "Weekend Experts Tour in Hebei". Mr. Wan Xingya, Vice President of Public Affairs of JD.com Group and General Manager of Hebei Government Affairs Coordination, was specially invited to deliver a keynote speech entitled "Do Practical, Valuable and Long-term Things". President Wang Yongqin, Vice Presidents Feng Baoqiang and Li Juan attended the event, which was also attended by nearly 1,000 participants including all middle-level cadres, teaching and research office directors, heads of scientific research platforms and key disciplines, as well as student representatives.
Before the report meeting, Wang Yongqin and Feng Baoqiang led the heads of departments including the Employment Service Center, Logistics Department, Information Center, Scientific Research Department, and School of Economics and Management in holding a school-enterprise cooperation negotiation with the delegation from JD.com Group. Wang Yongqin introduced the school's remarkable achievements in continuously advancing the deepening and solidification of industry-education integration through a series of measures, such as closely aligning with Shijiazhuang's five hundred-billion-level industrial clusters, deepening the "one college, one county" school-local cooperation model, and building provincial-level modern industrial colleges. Wan Xingya shared JD.com's profound industrial accumulation and technological advantages in fields such as intelligent supply chain, digital retail, logistics technology, artificial intelligence, and big data, pointing out that these directions are highly consistent with the university's disciplinary and professional layouts in digital economy, modern logistics, e-commerce, information technology, and other areas. Both parties agreed that all-round and in-depth cooperation can be carried out in aspects such as co-building industrial colleges, customized talent cultivation, joint technological research and development, smart campus logistics, and the construction of student innovation and entrepreneurship as well as practice bases.
Wan Xingya, with "university-enterprise collaboration empowering youth growth" as the main theme, combined JD.com's vivid practices as a "youth-friendly enterprise" and its corporate characteristics of "four faces", to deeply explain how large platform enterprises can build a three-dimensional growth system connecting campus and workplace for college students through resource sinking, platform building and ecological empowerment. He systematically introduced JD.com, as a "new entity enterprise" rooted in, growing from and serving the real economy, its outstanding performance in terms of operating income, employee scale, Fortune Global 500 ranking, user base and social responsibility. He emphasized JD.com's core concepts of adhering to "success through the right path", developing "warm technology" and creating social value, as well as its specific actions and long-term plans in promoting high-quality employment, engaging in social welfare, and assisting rural revitalization. He stated that the pragmatic and innovative talent traits nurtured by Shijiazhuang University's school motto of "Virtue and Erudition, Pragmatism and Innovation" are highly consistent with JD.com's core requirements for young talents of "doing practical things, valuable things, and long-term things", laying a solid foundation for both parties to deepen cooperation in multiple dimensions such as talent cultivation, internship training, scientific research collaboration, and campus ecological co-construction.
