Colorful flags flying high ignited the fighting spirit, and youthful energy soared to the skies. From April 16th to 17th, 2026 Sports Meeting was held at the track and field stadium on the south campus in Shijiazhuang university.
At 7 a.m. on the April 16th, the opening ceremony officially began. Among those in attendance were Secretary of the Party Committee Chen Liang, President Wang Yongqin, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee Ji Lihuai, Vice President Feng Baoqiang, Vice President Li Juan, and Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission Li Huilin, along with the heads of various schools and relevant departments. The opening ceremony was presided over by Vice President Feng Baoqiang. Secretary of the Party Committee Chen Liang declared the opening of the 2026 sports meeting of Shijiazhuang University.
As the majestic athlete’s march played, the flag guard led the way with poised elegance. The university flag team, flag-bearing forest team, bouquet team, referees’ team, and athletes’ teams marched in proudly one after another. With high spirits, firm steps, and resounding chants, they radiated enthusiasm, showcasing their unyielding determination and youthful charm.
In the opening address, President Wang Yongqin pointed out that the value of sportsmanship lies in its ability to turn sweat into perseverance and elevate competition into collaboration. This dialectical mindset of balancing competition and cooperation not only strengthens the body but also cultivates an open-minded, enterprising, and resilient personality—an intangible yet immense asset. She put forward three hopes for all athletes, coaches, referees, and faculty and students. First, she hopes that all athletes will uphold the Olympic spirit of “Faster, Higher, Stronger —Together,” striving tenaciously for excellence, performing to the best of their ability and style, and fully demonstrating the uplifting spirit of the Shijiazhuang University community. Second, she hopes that all coaches and referees will fulfill their duties with dedication, provide careful guidance and fair judgment, and ensure a fair, orderly, safe, and civilized competition environment through their professionalism and sense of responsibility. Third, she hopes that all faculty and students will participate enthusiastically and be civil spectators—conveying strength through cheers and paying tribute to hard work with applause—demonstrating civility, order, and good character, jointly creating a strong atmosphere where everyone joins in and shares the joy of sports. She expressed the wish that all faculty and students take this Sports Meeting as an opportunity to further promote sportsmanship and advocate for physical activity, making robust health and sound character lifelong hallmarks of every member of the Shijiazhuang University.
At the opening ceremony, the athlete teams from each school made dazzling appearances, presenting a visual feast of creativity and vitality to the audience. Each team demonstrated ingenuity, using full energy, dynamic choreography, and distinct themes to vividly interpret the unique character and cultural depth of their respective schools. The students’ precise movements radiated youthful passion, their seamless formations highlighted team coordination, and the perfect fusion of sportsmanship and artistic expression drew waves of applause and cheers from the crowd.
More than 1,200 faculty and staff athletes and over 3,000 student athletes gathered on the field, diving into various competitions with great enthusiasm and high fighting spirits. United and striving, daring to compete and win, every speeding figure interpreted the excitement of sports, and every drop of sweat etched the mark of hard work. The entire venue is filled with dynamism and passion, with vitality rushing towards them.
On the afternoon of April 17th, the Sports Meeting concluded successfully. University leaders presented awards to the winning schools and representative teams. Vice President Feng Baoqiang presided over the closing ceremony.
Secretary of the Party Committee Chen Liang delivered the closing address. He noted that the Sports Meeting was well-organized, marked by excellent sportsmanship, and full of highlights. It was not only a sports event showcasing youthful vitality but also a spiritual baptism that gathered striving strength and tempered willpower. He expressed hope that all departments and schools would take this Sports Meeting as a new starting point to actively engage in building a healthy campus, improve the “triple-wide education” mechanism, deepen the integration of the five aspects of education, and strive to create a strong atmosphere where “everyone loves sports, enjoys daily health, and is always full of energy,” using sports to solidify the foundation of moral education. He hoped that students would firmly embrace the concept of “health first,” stepping out of their dormitories and onto the sports ground in their spare time—strengthening their bodies through exercise, surpassing themselves through competition, cultivating exercise habits, and refining good character. With robust health and sound character, they should shoulder the mission of the times and pursue their youthful dreams, striving to become well-rounded socialist builders and successors with moral, intellectual, physical, aesthetic, and labor education. He hoped that all faculty and students would take this Sports Meeting as an opportunity to raise their spirits, muster their energy, shoulder their missions with a running posture, and promote development with a striving attitude, further advancing the effective implementation of the “1396” development strategy and pushing the university’s high-quality development to achieve new leaps and reach new levels.
