On April 25, the 23rd Hebei Provincial University Games concluded successfully at Dingzhou Middle School. Our delegation excelled again, winning the “Sports Ethics and Conduct Award”; the women's track and field Group C (for sports majors in regular universities) secured first place in the overall team standings, retaining the women’s team championship for the third consecutive edition; the men’s track and field Group C team claimed the silver medal; and the Group C team ranked first in overall track and field performance, maintaining its top position in the Group C team standings for three consecutive editions. In total, Group C earned 5 gold, 7 silver, and 6 bronze medals, while Group A (for non-sports majors in regular universities) secured 1 gold and 5 bronze medals, breaking 9 university records.

This Universiade was hosted by the Department of Education of Hebei Province, organized by the Hebei Students’ Sports Federation, and co-hosted by the CPC Dingzhou Municipal Committee and the Dingzhou Municipal Government. A total of 3,690 athletes from 112 universities across the province participated in the event, which is the highest-level, largest-scale, and most influential comprehensive college sports competition in the province’s education system. During the competition, the athletes from our school were full of fighting spirit and tenacious in their efforts. The team composed of students from the School of Physical Education performed outstandingly in the track and field events of Group C, winning multiple gold medals and ranking first in the women’s team total score in Group C. They also performed well in the men’s Group C table tennis competition, winning the men’s team championship. The team composed of ordinary students from non-sports majors in our school also performed bravely in the track and field events of Group A, winning the high jump championship. In addition, the basketball, volleyball, and table tennis teams from our school also fought hard and tenaciously in the competition, demonstrating solid professional skills and good teamwork spirit. The teams from our school strictly adhered to the competition rules and regulations, showcasing excellent professional qualities and sportsmanship, and received high praise and unanimous recognition from the event organizing committee, achieving a double harvest of sports achievements and spiritual civilization.

During the competition, President Wang Yongqin led the heads of relevant departments to visit the competition area to show their concern and encouragement to the coaches and athletes who were working hard on the front line. Vice President Feng Baoqiang, the head of the delegation, detailed the overall progress of the competition, the performance of each participating event, and the current points and rankings of the team. President Wang Yongqin highly affirmed everyone’s hard work and encouraged all the personnel to keep up the good work, carry forward the spirit of tenacious struggle, and perform to the best of their abilities and style.

This participation not only fully demonstrated the indomitable spirit and the fighting spirit of our school’s sportsmen, but also vividly highlighted the achievements of our school in cultivating applied talents.
