In order to support the cause of international Chinese language education, meet the needs of Chinese language learners in various countries and the needs of overseas teaching institutions for international Chinese language education volunteers (hereinafter referred to as the “volunteers”), the Center for Language Education and Cooperation (hereinafter referred to as the CLEC) plans to start the selection of volunteers for the year 2022. According to the Notice of the Hebei Provincial Department of Education on Organizing the Application for Working as International Chinese Language Education Volunteers in 2022, the application details are hereby notified as follows:

I. Job information

This year, about 1,140 international Chinese language education volunteers will be recruited from various schools across China, and their positions involve 16 countries including Thailand. (See the annexes for the job information table.)

II. Application

1. Application time

(1) Any volunteers who will take up their posts in the first half of 2022 and have a long visa application cycle must complete their application procedures before March 15, 2022;

(2) Any volunteers who will take up their posts in the second half of 2022 and have a long visa cycle must complete their application procedures before March 31, 2022.

*Applications can be submitted from now on. The specific job application deadlines are subject to the system notifications of the special platform (https://pmplatform.chinese.cn).

2. Qualified applicants

Fresh graduates in 2022 and in-service teachers.

3. Application conditions

(1) Good moral cultivation and professional quality, volunteer to engage in international Chinese language education, and have dedication spirit, strong sense of teamwork, good conduct and no criminal record;

(2) Good health, good psychological quality and adaptability;

(3) Good command of Chinese language. The applicants shall understand Chinese culture and contemporary Chinese national conditions, and have basic teaching theory knowledge, proficient foreign language communication skills, good cross-culture communication skills, Chinese language teaching practice skills and Chinese talents and skills;

(4) In addition to the language ability of Grade IIA in Mandarin, the English language ability of the volunteers going to Europe should reach the CET-6 score of 425 or the equivalent, while volunteers who will take up posts in other countries should reach CET-4 score of 425 or the equivalent. Otherwise, they shall be proficient in the languages of the corresponding host countries;

(5) Being at the age of 22-50;

(6) Those who have mastered the national language of a post, major in Chinese international education, have teaching experience, or hold an International Chinese Teacher Certificate are encouraged to apply for such jobs.

In addition to meeting the above basic conditions, special requirements of the specific post applied for shall also be met. See the annexes for the post information table.

4. Application procedures

(1) Log in to the Program Management Platform of the Center for Language Education and Cooperation (https://pmplatform.chinese.cn) (hereinafter referred to as the “Management Platform”), complete the user registration procedure and then fill in the basic information required;

(2) Select a position, fill in the Chinese and English language versions of the Application Form for Working as International Chinese Language Education Volunteer (hereinafter referred to as the “Application Form”) and the Review Form for Comprehensive Information of International Chinese Language Education Volunteers (hereinafter referred to as the “Review Form”) online and submit them online;

(3) The PDF versions of the Application Form and the Review Form in both Chinese and English languages can be generated online and shall be printed. After having been signed, the printing result of the Application Form shall be scanned, uploaded online and submitted;

(4) Submit the signed Chinese and English originals of the Application Form and the Review Form, the copies of academic degree certificates (students still in the fourth year of university need to provide proof of studying), copies of Mandarin and foreign language certificates and other materials to their units for review.

III. Review

All the affiliated schools and departments of the University are requested to review the application materials of their applicants, ensure that the application materials are authentic and complete, fill in, sign and seal the Application Summary Form, and send all the materials to the International Exchange and Cooperation Center (Room 606, Administration Building).

IV. Material submission

Submission of the candidate review materials for the positions with the first batch of deadlines shall be completed before March 14, 2022, and that for the second batch shall be completed before March 29, 2022. If a submission is overdue, it shall not be accepted.
