On June 10, our university held the 2026 Graduates Representative Symposium. Chen Liang, Secretary of the Party Committee, Wang Yongqin, President, Ji Lihuai, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Li Juan, Vice President, and Li Huilin, Secretary of the Commission for Discipline Inspection, attended the meeting. Heads of functional departments including the President Office, Publicity Department, Student Affairs Office, Academic Affairs Office, Finance Office, Security Office, Logistics Management Office, Library, University Hospital and Network and Information Center participated in the symposium. Seventeen outstanding graduate representatives from all schools and departments attended the event.

The symposium was held in a warm and enthusiastic atmosphere. Graduate representatives reviewed their four-year study career affectionately, shared gains and growth in professional learning, practical training and campus cultural activities, and sincerely expressed gratitude to the university for its careful cultivation and to teachers for their earnest instructions. Centering on talent cultivation, education and teaching, management services, digital-intelligent construction, and infrastructure improvement, the students actively offered suggestions and put forward practical, insightful constructive opinions.

Chen Liang, Secretary of the Party Committee, congratulated the students on successfully completing their studies and about to start a new life journey, and thanked them for their concern for the university's development and valuable suggestions. He required relevant functional departments to carefully sort out the opinions and suggestions put forward by graduates, earnestly implement improvement measures, and support students' growth and talent development. Chen Liang pointed out that in recent years, the university has steadily promoted various work around the "1396" development strategy. The Class of 2026 is not only the witness of the university's rapid development during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, but also the firsthand experiencer of the effective implementation of the "six major scenarios", continuous optimization of campus environment and increasingly strong educational atmosphere. Combining the development of the times and personal growth, Chen Liang, on behalf of the Party Committee of the university, put forward four expectations for all 2026 graduates:

First, born in a prosperous era, you should undertake responsibilities and strive for great achievements. You should deepen your patriotism, integrate personal ideals into the overall development of the country, work diligently and make achievements in your respective positions, and interpret the value of youth through struggle.

Second, as a human being, you should take self-cultivation and virtue as the foundation. Take moral cultivation as a required course that never ends, cultivate it throughout your life, abide by moral standards, correctly handle the relationship between the "small self" and the "greater self", and nourish noble character in interpersonal communication and team collaboration.

Third, learning knows no bounds, so you should pursue lifelong learning to increase wisdom. You should not only study classic works and draw wisdom from traditional culture, but also learn from practice, continuously improve thinking ability and comprehensive quality, avoid random speculation, arbitrary absolutism, stubbornness and complacency, maintain a humble mind and keep improving yourself.

Fourth, in an era of change, you should pursue innovation and embrace the future. You need to take the initiative to adapt to the changes of the times, actively learn new knowledge and grasp new trends, and have the courage to break through yourself and blaze new trails. He wished the students a steady, far-reaching and wonderful journey in the future, that they can truly become the backbone of the country and enjoy a brilliant life. Chen Liang also announced that the university has designated the annual Begonia Festival as the Alumni Homecoming Day, and sincerely invites all graduates to return to their alma mater regularly to relive their youth and pursue a better future together.

In her speech, President Wang Yongqin highly affirmed the outstanding performance of this class of students who grew up together with the university and aligned with its development. She said with gratification that the students' excellent results in further study and employment fully demonstrate the quality of talent cultivation of the university and have added glory to the alma mater. Wang Yongqin pointed out that in recent years, the university has closely followed the "1396" development strategy, steadily promoted the construction of "six major scenarios", and continuously improved its educational strength, social influence and reputation. The opinions and suggestions put forward by the students are full of care and love for the alma mater, and these demands and expectations are exactly the direction for the university's next work improvement. For the issues raised by students on infrastructure transformation and management service optimization, the university has already formulated a systematic rectification plan, which will be implemented step by step. The university will continue to promote the renovation of dormitories, upgrading of teaching equipment, optimization of venue reservation and management, and improvement of public area environment, so as to create a higher-quality study and living environment. She affectionately encouraged all graduates that graduation is a new starting point of life, and hoped that everyone will always remember the identity of "Shiyuan student", consciously act as the image ambassador of the alma mater, and always care about the development of the alma mater. The university will also adhere to its original mission of education, continuously improve the quality of running a school, and strive to become the strongest backing and proudest confidence for every alumnus. She wished every graduate a brilliant and wonderful future.

This symposium built a warm communication bridge between teachers and students. It not only listened to the voices of students and collected valuable suggestions, but also conveyed the alma mater's care and expectation for all graduates. Taking this symposium as an opportunity, our university will continue to optimize management services, improve educational conditions, and fully promote the high-quality development of all undertakings.
