Launched in 2013, the FLTRP "Teaching Star" Grand Prix is a high-level
professional competition with wide-ranging influence in the field of foreign language education among Chinese universities. Themed "Effective Use of Foreign Language Textbooks: Empowerment through Digital Intelligence, Communication between China and the World," this year's competition featured three major assessment components—"Instructional Design," "All-English Lesson Presentation," and "Classroom Recording"—to comprehensively evaluate teachers' instructional design capabilities, classroom practice, and digital application literacy. A total of 527 sets of entries were submitted for the National Semifinals of the Undergraduate English Group. Amid fierce competition, the entries represented the cutting-edge level of foreign language textbook application and teaching innovation in universities today.
During preparation, the two teams devoted themselves to diligent research and close collaboration. They delved deeply into the connotations of the textbooks, carefully designed teaching activities closely aligned with the competition theme, flexibly adopted a blended online-and-offline teaching model, and organically integrated digital teaching resources and platforms. From the teaching framework to lesson presentation, and from classroom recording to detailed delivery, team members refined their work repeatedly with a spirit of striving for excellence. Ultimately, with innovative instructional design, solid classroom performance, and mature, high-quality entries, they stood out among numerous participating institutions nationwide.
