On July 2nd, the First 2026 Fancy Rope Skipping Competition, hosted by the Sports Work Committee in SJZU and organized by the College of Physical Education, kicked off at the gymnasium on the South Campus. President Wang Yongqin and Vice President Feng Baqiang attended the opening ceremony. All participating teams from various colleges across the university gathered at the venue, using ropes as a medium to compete on the same stage, showcasing the spirited and enterprising spirit of the youth in SJZU.
The venue was filled with colorful flags and an enthusiastic atmosphere. Feng Baqiang delivered a speech for the competition. He stated that rope skipping is a popular sport that combines fun and competitiveness. The First Fancy Rope Skipping Competition is an important practice for our university in promoting the comprehensive development of students through five educational dimensions and implementing the national fitness campaign on campus. He encouraged all participating students to release their youthful vitality through jumping, hone their perseverance through competition, uphold the competitive spirit of “friendship first and competition second”, and show their level and style in the competition. At the same time, he hoped that all teachers and students would take this event as an opportunity to persist in daily exercise, develop a habit of sports, integrate sports into daily campus life, and shoulder the mission of the times with a strong physique. Finally, Feng Baqiang extended his sincere appreciation to all faculty members and volunteers who had worked hard to prepare for the event.
President Wang Yongqin announced the opening of 2026 Fancy Rope Skipping Competition in SJZU. With the passionate background music and warm applause from the audience, the competition officially kicked off.
Colorful ropes spun and dancers moved gracefully on the field. Multiple events were held in succession, including individual speed jump, synchronized jump for two people, collective pattern jump, and multi-person long rope relay. The contestants controlled the rhythm precisely, moved briskly and neatly, and arranged the patterns with full creativity. The swinging jump ropes drew a series of agile arcs, and every leap in the air elicited cheers and continuous applause from the audience. The referees were fair, impartial, and rigorous in their judging, while the volunteers guided the participants in an orderly manner and provided meticulous service throughout the event. All personnel performed their respective duties to ensure the smooth and orderly progress of the event. After a tense and exciting competition, all events were successfully completed. The top eight places in the overall team score are achieved by the School of Law and Society, the School of Economics and Management, the School of Science/School of Physics, the School of Future Information Technology, the School of Geographical Sciences and Environment, the School of Literature and History, the School of Chemical Engineering/School of Bio-medicine, and the School of Journalism and Communication.
This competition not only provided a stage for students to showcase their athletic talents but also fully demonstrated the vibrant and competitive youthful attitude of students in SJZU, further promoting the regular development of campus mass sports activities.
