Release time:2026-07-22 09:11:24
Recently, the list of “Excellent Volunteers” for the 2025-2026 Hebei Province Western Plan assessment was made public. Two volunteers from the Class of 2025 at our university, Zhang Xinyue and Lu Lanying, were included on the list. They have been awarded the title of “Excellent Volunteer” in the 2025-2026 Hebei Province College Student Volunteer Service for Rural Revitalization Plan assessment.
Zhang Xinyue, a graduate of the Dance Major at the School of Music and a member of the Communist Party of China (CPC), serves at the Veteran Service Station in Bancheng Town, Kuancheng Manchu Autonomous County, Chengde City. In her position, she manages multiple responsibilities, including veteran services, grassroots Youth League work, the Women’s Federation, and the election of the village “Two Committees.” She has completed various tasks such as processing preferential treatment cards, mediating disputes for veterans, surveying Youth League member information, organizing skills training for women, and organizing village grid ledgers. In July 2026, when the area was hit by extreme rainstorms causing floods, she volunteered to take the lead in flood fighting and disaster relief efforts, safeguarding the public with the dedication of a Party member. Over the past year, she has remained steadfast at the front lineof rural areas, faced difficulties head-on, and fulfilled her original volunteer aspirations through hard work.
Lu Lanying, a graduate of the Secretariat Major at the School of Literature and History, serves at the People’s Government of Fucun Town, Gaoyi County, Shijiazhuang City. She is primarily responsible for youth care, volunteer service coordination, and grassroots Youth League affairs. During her service, she traveled between campuses, villages, and communities to regularly conduct volunteer services such as visits to special education schools, home visits for needy teenagers, college entrance exam (Gaokao) stress relief counseling, summer childcare, and “Returning to Hometown” social practice activities. Through repeated visits, assistance, and event organization, she shed impetuousness and understood the true meaning of dedication. She rooted herself in the grassroots with meticulous and heartwarming service, gaining local recognition through her solid work achievements. She stated that the grassroots level is the best classroom for youth growth, and she looks forward to seeing more fellow students go to the grassroots level and spread their youth where they are needed most.
In 2025, our university selected a total of seven graduates to participate in the Hebei Rural Revitalization Special Project of the Western Plan. In addition to the two students receiving provincial-level excellence awards, the comprehensive abilities of the other volunteers have significantly improved after a year of grassroots training. Among them, four successfully passed the examinations for grassroots civil servants. This fully demonstrates the tempering effect of grassroots practice on youth growth and showcases the solid and comprehensive qualities of our university’s graduates.
For a long time, our university has attached great importance to the organization, mobilization, tracking, training, and support of the Western Plan. Through continuous policy presentations, pre-job training, warm care during service, and post-service career guidance, we guide young students to cultivate a deep affection for serving the country and the people at the grassroots level. Moving forward, the university will extensively publicize the advanced deeds of outstanding volunteers in the Western Plan, leverage the guiding role of role models, and encourage more young people to actively devote themselves to the front lines of rural revitalization and grassroots governance. We aim to integrate youthful ideals into the overall local development and write the commitment of the youth of the new era through practical actions.
